Riding the MRT...

So the rest of the Sungai Buloh - Kajang MRT line (Museum Negara to Kajang) finally opened to the public this past week, and train fares (LRT, MRT and Monorail) are currently half off until Merdeka day.

For the shits and giggles, I took the MRT to (first) Bukit Bintang, then to the end of the line in Kajang and back.

Conveniently enough, they posted this sign to tell you which exit/entrance is for which hotspot at the Bukit Bintang station...

This is where you land up when you use Exit/Entrance "E"...

It's kinda down the road from Pavilion, but walkable unless you're really lazy or unable to walk.

Didn't spend too much time in Bukit Bintang, so decided to ride the MRT to the end of the line and back for the AC cos there wasn't anywhere else along the line that I wanted to go to and it's too damn hot outside. Almost fell asleep too cos it was so nice inside the train, even with the crying babies and kids.

The train ride from Bukit Bintang to Kajang took almost 45 minutes and a little over an hour from Kajang back to PJ, changing lines at the Pasar Seni station (glad there's no tapping out of the MRT station and into the LRT station cos it's in the paid area). Loads of crying babies and kids on the MRT (which I drown out listening to Sigur Ros), something which I never really noticed on the LRT all these years...?

For under 30 minutes, taking the MRT to Bukit Bintang is faster than driving there, but only if I stuck to the MRT and don't change lines or anything. And there's still getting myself to the nearest MRT station (BU) which takes about 10 minutes by car with some traffic. Not a bad option if I ever have to go downtown in evening rush hour?
