Fierce Curry House, Bangsar

Okay, I admit I only heard about Fierce Curry House (and their Hyderabadi-style biryani) from BFM's The Om Nom Show a few weeks ago (I wonder how much business they've got since that aired), but I also didn't want to go by myself. Luckily a couple of people agreed to come with, so it wasn't a sad solo eating experience for yours truly.

The place was not that hard to find personally - as it's behind the Bangsar LRT station, it's also on the feeder bus route, which I'm not unfamiliar with. The interior dining area is split level, so watch those steps. But otherwise, it just reminds me of being in someone's dining room, it just does.

Got there after 12.30 p.m., beating the lunch rush (if any), there was still plenty of biryani in the steamers. (That, or a lot of people were doing their Saturday sleep-in :P). The three of us ordered one of each available variation - mutton (RM18) and chicken (RM12). I shared in on the chicken biryani, but I got to taste the mutton as well.

There's supposed to be THREE sides, but they brought the missing side afterwards
This you don't want to do yourself - it is REALLY hot to touch
The biryani was edible, but I'm not much of a biryani connoisseur to know any better. The rice grain was also longer than my short nails, which is saying something. The meat in both varieties was tender. It's spiced well but not spicy (pedas) unless you mix in some of the accompanying curry. The owner also took a picture of us for their Biryani Wall of Fame on Facebook, so if you're a terribly private person... you've been warned :P

Service was not too bad, but that might have more to do with it not being terribly busy at the time... :P Mileage may vary.

In case anyone is wondering - one pot is enough for two small eaters or one not-so small eater. Large-r eaters, I can't vouch for.

I probably wouldn't go back by myself, but I'll tag along if anyone else is going...

If you see this sign, you're at the right place
