I know the franchising option is DAMN expensive, but here's some options that Malaysian companies should consider:

1. Krispy Kreme

Mmm... sugar glazed donuts. Almost every product of theirs has a sugar glaze, even the most chocolate-y of donuts, which I have nothing against since I don't have it everyday. Though I have to say it's better than Dunkin Donuts (and also more dangerous to one's blood sugar), more so since even street vendors can replicate what DD is doing now.

Here's the franchising info for Asia. 1 to 30 million... wahlau eh. :P

2. Caribou Coffee

Another coffee shop chain like Starbucks, except that it's not nationwide, like Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in America. It was one of the first things I had when we touched down at Minneapolis airport nearly two years ago and it was one of the last things I drank before flying home. Had one as often as I could seeing that I won't be there for long and it's not nationwide like Starbucks. As someone who drinks mocha rather than straight coffee, they've got at least a couple versions of mocha drinks that I adored like Turtle Mocha and Zebra Mocha. But that doesn't mean that they're any less fattening lah.

3. Taco Bell

I have nothing against Taco Bell and what they serve, but with the news about huge rats in a New York Taco Bell restaurant has affected their PR. Then again, isn't New York overrun with giant rats anyway? I'm just saying.

One of the things I liked about Taco Bell was the Taco Bell-only varieties of Montain Dew, which I think was (last checked, anyway) Baja Lime and Berry Blast. Damnit I miss Mountain Dew lah - what the hell happened to it anyway? I remember having it in primary school and then, nada - no sign of it anywhere. It's owned by Pepsi and locally owned by Perwanis - what the hell gives? Has it been banned?

Edit: Just thought of this one...

4. Cold Stone Creamery

Instead of the usual ice cream scoop with toppings, you can get stuff MIXED INTO your ice cream. The business is so named after the frozen cold granite stone that the ice cream is mixed on. I only had it a few times in the States as it's not a place I pass really often.

In Asia there's only stores in Japan and Korea.

Here's their page for franchising information.

5. Quiznos Sub

Just because... :)

Anyway - I kinda doubt that it'd happen; I've not had it for the first 21 years of my life, why would I want them now?

Malaysians are fat enough.

I'm just saying.
